solo weekend
After I survived the 20 mile run last week, I caught a wonderful chest cold that held my miles down to 46 this past week. However, it is the biggest week since May of 2009. I have never been a real high miles guy so anywhere from 40-50 a week is a good week for me. I’ve been doing one hill workout a week and I’ll explain that workout in another post. This past weekend I found myself alone in West Peabody so saturday was a typical run BUT in the snow which made the run real slow going and it made my hamstrings real sore. Sunday I decided not to race but instead head out to Lake Quinapowett from my house. It’s a little less than 14 miles round trip. I needed something a bit upbeat so I put on a pair of racing shoes and ran the first 5 as a warm up and then ran 1 loop around the lake(3 miles) at 6:00 minute pace and then I headed back. The last 4 miles or so I had to deal with a nice blister on the bottom of my foot but I still managed an overall pace of 7 flat for the entire run….It’s time to think about a rust buster….
